Mindfulness Meditation and Retreats
The theme for the 2025 meditation courses is ‘New Horizons’.
During 2025 in the mindfulness meditation sessions we will look at how to start afresh and embrace change at any time of the year. Using the thread of the changing seasons we’ll look at a few different types of meditations that cover different learning styles: Visual (pictures and images), Kinaesthetic (sense of touch) and Auditory (listening).
I have been going through a period of change over the last few months, my eldest son left for University, his pathway unfolding before him, yet my path felt changed and uncertain. About Somerset Meditation
I am an accredited British School of Meditation teacher but my belief in the benefits of mindfulness meditation comes from personal experience. I have become a calmer, more focussed and compassionate human being since I started meditating. I began to notice through my daily practise that I was able to change my response to situations I would normally have found stressful. Having meditation in my daily self-care routine allows me to take a pause and then react in a more measured way.
I started to lean on my meditation practice more in 2021 when my brother died suddenly. I started to use meditation as a way to connect with the grief and I found meditation essential to help me move through difficult emotions in a way that didn’t feel overwhelming.
Mindfulness Meditation provides a grounding and balance when the world can feel complicated. It allows you to feel more able to cope and look forward to new challenges.
